In late 2023, The Cultural Landscape Foundation (“TCLF”) announced that the Beijing-based landscape architect Kongjian Yu was the chosen recipient of the 2023 Cornelia Hahn Oberlander International Landscape Architecture Prize (the “Oberlander Prize”).

In the zoom webinar below (hosted by TCLF), Elizabeth Mossop (Jury Chair for the Oberlander Prize in 2023) has a conversation and Q&A with Kongjian Yu. Yu has been pioneering the “sponge cities” concept for addressing climate change accelerated urban flooding and its global influence.
