Chitali Biswas

Chitali Biswas is a landscape designer at SMM's New Orleans office. Here she brings her passion for designing resilient landscapes to life. 

With a keen interest in enhancing human comfort and tackling climate challenges, her journey began with a master's in landscape architecture and environmental planning at North Carolina State University. There, she worked as a research assistant on acclaimed projects such as the Catawba Trail Farm Project, featured in Landscape Architecture Magazine. Through her design work, Chitali advocates for justice, dedicated to crafting sustainable environments that enrich the lives of all beings for generations to come. Her independent research work at NCSU was selected as a finalist for “Game Changers 2024: Biodiversity and Climate Action” program and will be presented at the ASLA 2024 Conference on Landscape Architecture in Washington, D.C.
