The newly renovated Canal Street Ferry Terminal serves the ferry line that crosses the Mississippi River from downtown New Orleans to Algiers Point to connect the Eastbank and Westbank communities. As the site along Canal Street will welcome increased foot traffic with the opening of new hotels and attractions, the design creates a transit hub that will be much more accessible to pedestrians.

The renovations include a smaller, modern, ADA-compliant terminal and pedestrian bridge and a vibrant focal point of regionally native grasses, perennials and shrubs that create urban habitat for butterflies and pollinators. The terminal now connects Spanish Plaza, Woldenberg Park and all of the site amenities into a cohesive pedestrian waterfront experience and re-envisions the connectivity between all transit modes to provide safe, reliable connections for locals and visitors alike.
